Narain Singh Chaura, who attacked and fired two bullets at former Shiromani Akali Dal president and former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal while performing sewa on the orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, has been granted bail.
Narain Singh Chaura’s lawyer Jaspal Singh Manjhpur and Chaura’s son Baljinder Singh said that the decision to grant bail to Chaura in the case registered against him was given by the court of Additional Sessions Judge Sumit Ghai, Amritsar.
The incident happened on December 2, when Sukhbir Singh Bdal was performing Sewa on the orders of Akal Takht as a ‘Chobdar’ sitting on a wheelchair outside the Darshani Deodhi of Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar.
All of a sudden Narain Singh Chaura, who arrived at the scene unexpectedly, fired two bullets, one of which hit the floor and the other hit the Darshani Deodhi. There was no loss of life or injury to anyone.
