NAPA Urges Pakistan Punjab CM to Trace Three Missing Sikhs, No Clue Even After Eleven Months

Nov 13, 2025(Yes Punjab News)

The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) has expressed deep concern and anguish over the mysterious disappearance of three Sikh residents from District Nankana Sahib, Pakistan, who have been missing for the past eleven months without any clue or official update.

The missing individuals have been identified as Badal Singh (30), a physically challenged youth, his brother Suraj Singh, and their aged father Manmohan Singh. The three reportedly disappeared under mysterious circumstances nearly a year ago. According to local sources, despite repeated pleas from the Sikh community, no investigation progress or government response has been made public.

Some residents from the area, speaking confidentially, expressed their suspicion that the three Sikhs might have been killed by elements of the ISI, though this claim remains unverified.

In a strong appeal, NAPA Executive Director Satnam Singh Chahal has written a formal letter to the Chief Minister of Punjab, Pakistan, Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, urging her to take personal notice of the case and order a transparent, high-level investigation into the disappearance.

In his letter, Chahal emphasized that Nankana Sahib holds immense religious and historical importance for Sikhs worldwide as the birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism. He stated that such tragic incidents not only endanger the lives of minorities but also damage Pakistan’s global image regarding the safety and protection of its religious communities.

Chahal further appealed to the Punjab Government to trace the missing Sikhs immediately, bring those responsible to justice, and ensure safety and security for all Sikh families living in and around Nankana Sahib.

“The Sikh diaspora across the world is deeply disturbed by this prolonged silence and inaction,” Chahal said. “We expect the Punjab Government under Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s leadership to uphold justice and the principles of humanity.”

TEXT OF LETTER

Chief Minister, Punjab Province, Pakistan

Subject: Urgent Appeal to Trace Three Missing Sikh Residents from Nankana Sahib District

Honourable Chief Minister,

On behalf of the North American Punjabi Association (NAPA), I wish to draw your urgent attention to the disappearance of three Sikh residents from District Nankana Sahib, namely Badal Singh (age 30, physically challenged), Suraj Singh, and their aged father Manmohan Singh, who have been missing for the past eleven months.

Despite repeated appeals from the local Sikh community, there has been no progress or official statement regarding their whereabouts. It has been reported by some local sources that they might have been abducted or even killed, possibly involving elements linked to ISI, although this information remains unverified.

Madam Chief Minister, Nankana Sahib is not just another district — it is the birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, and a place held in the deepest reverence by Sikhs worldwide. Such incidents cast a shadow over Pakistan’s commitment to protecting its religious minorities and their holy heritage.

We humbly urge your personal intervention to:

Order a high-level and impartial investigation into the disappearance of these three Sikhs.

Ensure the safety and protection of all Sikh families in Nankana Sahib and surrounding regions.

Bring the culprits, if any, to justice and restore the community’s confidence in the rule of law.

We are confident that under your leadership, the Punjab Government will uphold justice, human rights, and communal harmony.
