Nagar Kirtan dedicated to 400th Parkash Purab departs for next phase from Gurdwara Dhamtan Sahib in Haryana

The Nagar Kirtan dedicated to the 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji today departed for the next phase from Gurdwara Dhamtan Sahib, Haryana.

Before departure, in-charge of Haryana Sikh Mission S. Mangpreet Singh introduced the life history of Guru Tegh Bahadur to the sangat. He said that after taking inspiration from the martyrdom of the ninth Guru, the young generation should adopt Bani and Bana (Gurbani and traditional Sikh attire). He encouraged the sangat to attend the 400th birth anniversary of the ninth Guru.

Earlier in the religious programme the ragi jathas connected the sangat with Gurbani Kirtan.

On the occasion of inauguration of Nagar Kirtan, SGPC member S. Jagsir Singh Mangeana, S. Baldev Singh Khalsa, additional secretary Dr Paramjit Singh Saroa, Baba Harinder Singh Kar Sewa, manager of Gurdwara Dhamdhan Sahib S. Jagpal Singh and other leaders honoured the Panj Pyare Sahiban and Nishanchi Singhs with Guru’s blessing Siropaos (robe of honours).

During the departure of Nagar Kirtan, the sangat paid homage to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji by showering flowers.

At various places along the way, the sangat gave a hearty welcome to the Nagar Kirtan and paid homage to Guru Sahib by presenting Rumala Sahib. The sangat also set up langar at various places.

On this occasion, in-charge of Haryana Sikh Mission S. Mangpreet Singh, head granthi of Gurdwara Dhamtan Sahib Bhai Joginder Singh, S. Jasbir Singh Jassi assistant in-charge, supervisor Harbhajan Singh and S. Jarnail Singh, S. Tahil Singh, S. Gurpreet Singh, S. Gurtej Singh, S. Avtar Singh and others were present.
