Sukhpal Singh Khaira President of Punjab Ekta Party (PEP) today visited Meena Rani of Muktsar, victim of brutal attack by Congress goons, admitted in Medical College and Hospital at Faridkot and found that even after three days of incident she was not given any medical treatment.
Khaira strongly flayed the delay in providing medical aid to the victim woman who is still under shock. He said that even the X-Ray of the victim is not done and Ultra Sound report is not prepared to assess the internal damage of organs and ribs of Meena Rani. He said that the family members of Meena Rani are living under fear.
Khaira also apprehended that Police might try to weaken the case against Congress MC Rakesh Chaudhary and his family members named in the Meena Rani case. The police was working under political pressure and turning blind eye to atrocities on poor people. He stated that Muktsar case was highlighted due to recording by son of the victim and impact of social media. He demanded from SSP Muktsar to file challan in this case without any delay to prevent bail to accused persons in the court of law.
He said that Chaudhary was Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MC for ten years and shifted loyalty to Congress to seek political patronage to his misdeeds. He is running an illegal finance business and grabbed properties of people who failed to repay high interest rates. He added that entry of criminals in politics was danger to our democracy.
Khaira sought immediate intervention of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh in this case. He however regretted that the whereabouts of Chief Minister were not known to anybody even as he had also missed the Niti Ayog meeting in Delhi on last Saturday on health grounds. Khaira said that Capt Amarinder Singh was running government on Twitter. He said that was indifferent about fate of two year old Fatehveer Singh who died in borewell in Sangrur due to negligence and similarly in the Meena Rani case and Jaspal Singh murder in police custody. He said that police had not so far located the dead body of Jaspal Singh to save political leaders involved in his murder.
Khaira said that Capt Amarinder Singh had became more arrogant after winning eight seats in Lok Sabha elections despite poor performance of his government. Capt Amarinder has started taking people for granted. He appealed to people of Punjab to realise the importance of their vote and elect people who are sensitive to their needs.
Khaira extended full support to family members of Meena Rani and assured financial help. He rued that Capt Amarinder Singh government had failed to give any compensation to the victim and ruling party leaders have not even turned up in hospital to see the plight of the victim.
Khaira also condemned police brutality against Sikh cab driver and his minor son in Delhi. He demanded strict action against guilty policemen. He also questioned silence of SAD and BJP leaders on this issue. He said that Delhi police was directly under Union home minister Amit Shah and SAD is alliance partner of BJP.
