MRSPTU Vice Chancellor Prof Sanjeev Kumar Sharma leads Strategic Dialogue with Malwa Affiliated Colleges

Reinforcing its commitment to participatory academic governance and regional capacity building, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, convened a high-level interactive meeting with its affiliated colleges at the University Boardroom under its flagship outreach initiative ‘University Aapke Dwaar’ (MRSPTU at Your Doorstep).

The meeting was chaired by MRSPTU Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Kumar Sharma and attended by Chairmen, Directors, Principals, and senior representatives of 25 affiliated colleges from the Malwa region, including institutions from the border districts of Ferozepur and Fazilka.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Sharma stated that the initiative aims to strengthen coordination, communication, and academic collaboration between the University and its affiliated institutions.

He led focused deliberations on key academic and administrative priorities, including implementation of NEP-2020, academic audits, examination reforms, launching new need-based courses, digital transformation, curriculum upgradation, and enhancement of teaching–learning quality.

He urged colleges to intensify skill development programmes, introduce industry-oriented and future-ready courses, promote a research-driven academic culture, upgrade infrastructure, and adopt robust student-centric academic practices.

Key discussions also covered raising academic standards, strengthening the affiliation framework, enhancing student enrolment, expanding faculty and student development initiatives, NAAC preparedness, and building strong industry linkages through MoUs. Government-led skill initiatives, including the Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum (EMC) and the Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM), were also discussed.

Prof. Sharma assured the participating institutions of complete institutional support from MRSPTU in addressing academic, administrative, examination, and policy-related matters. College representatives shared their concerns and suggestions, to which the Vice Chancellor assured timely redressal and proactive follow-up, reaffirming the University’s commitment to strengthening the higher education ecosystem of the Malwa region.

On the occasion, the official MRSPTU WhatsApp Channel “MRSPTU Bathinda” was formally launched to enhance real-time communication and coordination with affiliated colleges.

The meeting was organised by Director, College Development Council (CDC), Prof. Dinesh Kumar, who welcomed the participants. Senior university officials present included Registrar Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar, Dr. Amit Bhatia (Associate Dean, Academic Affairs), Dr. Yadwinder Sharma (Assistant Director, CDC), Assistant Registrar Amanpreet Kaur Brar, along with Deans and Directors of the University.

On behalf of affiliated colleges, Shri Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor for patiently addressing the issues raised by the affiliated colleges.

In his concluding remarks, Prof. Sharma reaffirmed MRSPTU’s unwavering commitment to providing continuous guidance, timely services, and proactive institutional support to ensure sustained academic excellence and improved student outcomes across all affiliated colleges.
