Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, continued its flagship outreach initiative ‘University Aapke Dwaar’ with an interactive meeting held at Punjab Institute of Technology (PIT), GTB Garh, Moga.
The session was chaired by MRSPTU Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Kumar Sharma and attended by Chairmen, Directors, Principals, and senior representatives of all 13 affiliated colleges of Moga district.
Prof. Sharma said the initiative aims to strengthen coordination, communication, and academic collaboration between the University and its affiliated colleges. He led detailed discussions on major academic and administrative priorities, including implementation of NEP-2020, academic audits, examination reforms, digital transformation, curriculum upgrading, and improvement of teaching–learning quality.
He urged institutions to enhance skill development programmes, offer contemporary and industry-relevant courses, promote research culture, improve infrastructure, and adopt strong student-centric practices.
Other key deliberations focused on strategies to improve academic quality, strengthen affiliations, increase admissions, expand faculty and student development activities, prepare for NAAC accreditation, and build strong industry linkages through MoUs.
The Vice Chancellor assured complete support from MRSPTU for resolving academic, administrative, examination, and policy-related matters, while college representatives shared suggestions and challenges. Prof. Sharma committed timely action to further strengthen the higher education ecosystem of the region.
Government-led skill initiatives, including the Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum (EMC) and Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM), were also discussed. All institutions welcomed EMC and agreed to ensure 100% implementation, while colleges were encouraged to introduce PSDM skill-based courses to enhance employability.
PIT Director Dr. Amit Kumar Manocha played a key role in organising the meeting and welcomed all dignitaries at the outset. Senior university officials — Dr. Amit Bhatia (Associate Dean Academic Affairs), Dr. Dinesh Kumar (Director CDC), and Dr. Yadwinder Sharma (Assistant Director CDC) — also participated.
Institutions represented included Alpine Institute of Information Technology; Baba Mangal Singh Institute; Desh Bhagat Foundation Group of Institutions; LLR College of Pharmacy; LLR Institute of Engineering; LLR Memorial Institute of Management; M.L. Memorial Technical College; S.F.C. Institute of Management; M.L. Memorial College of Pharmacy; SFC Institute of Pharmacy; and Dr. Manik Memorial College.
In his concluding address, Prof. Sharma reaffirmed MRSPTU’s commitment to providing continuous guidance, timely services, and proactive support to all affiliated colleges to ensure sustained academic excellence and improved student outcomes. He announced that similar interactive meetings will soon be organised in Patiala and other regions.
Following the session, Prof. Sharma visited the PIT GTB Garh campus, reviewed academic facilities, interacted with faculty and staff, and offered suggestions to further enhance infrastructure and learning environments.
