Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, earned accolades with an impressive showing at the Punjab State Inter-University Youth Festival hosted recently at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar.
A contingent of 88 students, accompanied by faculty mentors, represented the University across all five major categories—Literary, Music, Dance, Fine Arts and Theatre—and delivered a strong overall performance.
In Fine Arts, MRSPTU students secured prominent positions, with Karandeep Kaur winning First Prize in Poster Making, while Randeep Singh, assisted by Nishu Kaur, claimed Third Prize in Mehandi. Their creativity drew praise from judges and audiences alike.
MRSPTU’s Dance teams earned widespread appreciation with vibrant performances of Luddi and Giddha, noted for their energy, coordination and cultural expression. Students were specially acknowledged during the felicitation ceremony for their outstanding contributions.
The contingent was guided by Dr. Bhupinder Pal Singh, Dr. Iqbal Singh Brar, Dr. Sukhjinder Singh, Dr. Hasratjot, Dr. Risham Dhaliwal and Ar. Simran.
Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor, MRSPTU, congratulated the Director Sports & Youth Welfare, Cultural Council members, faculty mentors, and all participants for their achievements. He urged the students to continue their winning momentum in the forthcoming North Zone competitions, where the University has consistently performed well.
Special guests from Indian Bank Mr. Shivneet Sharma, Zonal Manager and his team attended the ceremony, commending the students’ efforts and informing them about various educational support initiatives, including study loans and financial assistance schemes for deserving students.
Prominent among those present on the occasion include Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar, Registrar, Prof. Sanjiv Kumar Aggarwal, Campus Director (GZSCCET), Sh. Harjinder Singh Sidhu, Director Public Relations, Er. Harjot Singh Sidhu, Director Training and Placement, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Cultural Cordinator and University Cultural Council Members – Dr. Sukhjinder Singh, Ar. Amandeep Khiva, Er. Sunita Kotwal and Sh. Rahul Menon.
The Youth Festival witnessed participation from 22 universities in nearly 50 events, making the competition both diverse and challenging. MRSPTU students stood out with exemplary talent and commitment, bringing pride to the institution. MRSPTU extended congratulations to all participants, mentors, and support staff for their dedicated efforts and success.
