Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Member of Parliament, today raised in Parliament the urgent and long-ignored plight of Sikh families displaced from Pakistan, Afghanistan as refugees and survivors of the 1984 genocide.
Dr. Sahney urged the Government to immediately establish a comprehensive and dedicated rehabilitation scheme—on the lines of the 2015 package for families displaced from Pak-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir and Chhamb—covering permanent housing, livelihood assistance, education support, Skilling and long-term resettlement for all displaced Sikh families across the country.
Dr. Sahney also demanded that the Government to grant Minority benefits to Sikhs as in case of Kashmiri Pandits in Jammu & Kashmir.
