Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha announced his support for the family of the late renowned Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda during the Antim Ardas and Bhog Ceremony.
Dr. Sahney stated that he would personally reach out to the Punjab Government to facilitate a dignified government job for the late singer’s wife, and in case that is not possible, he assured that she would be offered a suitable position in his NGO, Sun Foundation.
Dr. Sahney also announced that he would sponsor the complete education of Rajvir Jawanda’s son and daughter upto their higher studies. As a tribute to the singer’s contribution to Punjabi music and culture,
In addition to this Dr. Sahney also announced that this year’s first award of Voice of Punjab on PTC Punjabi of rupees 2.5 lakhs will be granted by him to S. Rajvir Jawanda. He expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of his full support in the years to come.
