As part of this campaign, the Education Department today flagged off a special admission van rally from Government Primary School Sabowal. The rally was formally inaugurated by Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat, who flagged off the van. The main objective of this admission rally is to visit villages and towns across all 17 education blocks of the district to motivate residents to enrol their children in government schools.

On the occasion, Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat said that the Punjab Government is committed to making the state a leader in the field of education and is making continuous efforts day and night to transform government schools under the Punjab Sikhiya Kranti initiative.

He said the government’s primary goal is to provide better educational facilities to the people of Punjab so that no child is deprived of education. He added that the Punjab Government is dedicated to upgrading the education infrastructure to international standards for a brighter future of Punjab.

Under this initiative, nine Schools of Eminence and 18 Schools of Happiness have been started in the district. He appealed to parents to enrol their children in government schools for a better future.

She added that admissions can be registered not only at nearby schools but also through an online portal.

District Education Officer (Elementary Education) Harjinder Kaur said that during this campaign, teachers will connect with the community and inform people about admissions in government schools.

Students progressing to the next class, as well as out-of-school children, will also be enrolled. Deputy District Education Officer (Secondary Education) Rajiv Joshi said that information regarding facilities available to children in government schools will be shared with the public during the campaign.
