Modi govt implementing anti-people decisions in country by force: Harpal Cheema

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Senior Leader and Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema and State General Secretary Harchand Singh Bursat on Wednesday said that the meeting with 29 farmers’ organizations of Punjab with the government on the issue of anti-farm laws that remained inconclusive, saying it had proved that the Modi government was forcing its decisions on the people by force.

They said by doing so, the Modi government had insulted not only the farmers but the entire Punjab.

In a statement issued from party headquarters here on Wednesday, Harpal Singh Cheema said that the Aam Aadmi Party had been fighting for cause of the farmers from day one and won’t flinch till the black farming laws were not reversed and saved the ‘annadata’ from the clutches of big corporates like the Ambanis and Adanis.

Harpal Singh Cheema on the occasion said that copies of any resolution to be brought in against draconian law laws passed by the Union Government during the special Vidhan Sabha should be made available to all the farmers’ bodies, political parties in advance.

He said the Punjab government should convene an all party meeting, including farmers’ organizations, adding that based on the outcome of the meeting, a session of the Vidhan Sabha should be convened at least for 7 days instead of one day, to buy justice for the ‘Anandata’ of Punjab who was fighting for his rights.

Harchand Singh Bursat on the occasion said that the Modi government at the Center had been working against the interest of the farmers and forcing the country’s benefactors to commit suicide, day in and day out. He said PM Narendra Modi had betrayed the gullible people of the country by promising them ‘Achhe din’ misleading narrative which were not to be.

Burst said that all kinds of designed were employed by the Modi government to destroy the farmers of the country. The Aam Aadmi Party won’t allow them to have their way at any cost. He said the Aam Aadmi Party would stand with the farmers through thick and thin during their relentless struggle to fight back the black laws.
