Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kharar Mrs. Anmol Gagan Maan today handed over sanction letters to 300 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 scheme at a function held at Ram Bhawan, Kharar. A total of 408 beneficiaries are covered under this housing initiative in Kharar.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Maan said that under the scheme, each beneficiary will receive financial assistance of Rs 2.50 lakh, released in four instalments — the first instalment of Rs 50,000, the second of Rs 1,00,000, and the third and fourth instalments of Rs 50,000 each. The funds are disbursed as per the progress of construction at the foundation, lintel, roof, and completion levels respectively.
Extending her good wishes to the beneficiaries, the MLA said that the scheme will help them realize their dream of owning a ‘Pakka House’, ensuring dignity and better living conditions. She emphasized that the PMAY (Urban) 2.0 is a joint initiative of the Central and State Governments, aimed at providing affordable housing to the economically weaker sections and needy families.
She further highlighted that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to ensuring housing for all, and such welfare schemes play a crucial role in empowering the underprivileged sections of society.
Officials from the District Administration, Municipal Council Kharar, and beneficiaries in large numbers were present on the occasion.
