Senior Congress leader Manoj Arora has been appointed Chairman of Jalandhar District Planning Committee.
A notification has been issued in this respect today.
Manoj Arora, who is presently General Secretary of Punjab Congress, has served in different capacities in Youth Congress and Congress. He has served as vice-president of Youth Congress. He has been member of Grievances Committee and Planning Board. He was also a Director of Youth Board.
He was also the Congress Observer for Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha Constituency in 2019 Parliament Elections.
His wife Aruna Arora is a third time Councillor and Chairperson of Tehbazari Committee of Jalandhar Municipal Corporation.
Meanwhile, Dr Navjot Dahiya and Major Gen Balwinder Singh VSM have also been nominated as Members of the District Planning Committee. A separate notification has been issued in this regard.
Five other leaders have also been nominated as members. They are Darshan Singh Phillaur, Vipan Kumar Village Cheema Kartarpur, Raj Kumar Raja Bhogpur, Savtantar Kumar Julka Village Allapur and Jagjit Singh village Sammipur, Distt. Jalandhar.
