Siddharth P. Malhotra’s latest directorial venture ‘Maharaj’ has been receiving an overwhelming response from audiences, with fans applauding his return to the industry with a film that carries a powerful social message.
The film’s impact has even inspired rapper MC Benn to create a rap that highlights the values embodied by the character Karsandas Mulji, played by debutant Junaid Khan.
In the rap video shared on Instagram, MC Benn portrays Karsandas (portrayed by Junaid Khan in the Siddharth P Malhotra directorial) as a champion of truth, a fighter against injustice, a helper of the needy, an advocate for women’s rights, and a revealer of secrets. Reacting to the video, the Director praised the rapper’s interpretation, appreciating how authentically MC Benn captured the essence of Karsandas Mulji’s character.
Resharing the song, Malhotra wrote, “How sweet my student from 9f in hichki in the house to support #maharaj @mcbennofficial thank you for this lovely surprise to wake up to ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ #karsandas”.
What’s interesting to know is MC Benn has already worked with the Maharaj Director as an actor in Hichki. The rap anthem is a befitting tribute to Malhotra and his film.

‘Maharaj’, based on the 1862 court case known as ‘The Maharaj Libel Case’ in Bombay, has garnered positive reviews from both audiences and critics, reaffirming Malhotra’s knack to deliver impactful cinema.
The film features Junaid Khan along with Jaideep Ahlawat, who plays the role of Jadunath Maharaj. It marks Siddharth P Malhotra’s return to the director’s chair after ‘Hichki’.
