The School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering at Lovely Professional University (LPU) organized its 5th International Conference on Intelligent Circuits and Systems (ICICS-2023). The hybrid conference provided a platform for constructive dialogue to both international and national participants.

The conference called for novel contributions aiming at intelligent circuits and systems towards attainment of targets and indicators for SDG3 as a broad area. Similarly in secondary areas, targets were signal and image processing; machine learning; communication; embedded systems & internet of things; sensor network; VLSI systems; control and robotics; electrical power systems; optical materials and sensors.

The Chief Patron of the Conference, LPU’s Founder Chancellor & MP (Rajya Sabha) Dr Ashok Kumar Mittal appreciated the theme of the conference and its current need. Dr Mittal also congratulated the participants for linking the theme with the field of EEE. The conference had four technical sessions wherein the eminent research scholars from different areas of the world participated. Eight international delegates presented their papers. The keynote speaker Prof Dr Mufti Mahmud of Nottingham Trent University (the UK) shared his latest research in brain signal analysis and neuro-prosthetics. The latter is a multidisciplinary field related to neurosciences and biomedical engineering. It aims at replacing or modulating parts of the nervous system that get disrupted in disorders or injury.

Director, NIT Kurukshetra, Prof. (Dr.) B. V. Ramana Reddy provided a unifying brief on what is learnt in electronics engineering and explained the need for value-based education.
