Kareena Kapoor Khan takes on the role of Detective Inspector Jaspreet “Jass” Bhamra in Hansal Mehta’s upcoming thriller, *The Buckingham Murders*.
In the newly released trailer, Jass is seen interrogating suspects as she attempts to solve the murder of a child amid rising communal tensions in Wycombe.
Released by Balaji Motion Pictures, the two-minute-and-34-second trailer reveals Jass’s journey as she returns to the police force after the tragic death of her own son. She is determined to uncover the mystery behind the sudden disappearance of Ishpreet Kohli, who went missing from a park on November 14, coincidentally Children’s Day in India.
As Jass narrows down her investigation, she identifies Shaqib Chaudhury, a Muslim teenager, as the primary suspect and has him arrested. This action ignites tensions between the Sikh and Muslim communities in Buckinghamshire.
Jass’s quest for the truth takes a darker turn as she begins to question Ishpreet’s adoptive family. However, her colleagues doubt her abilities and frequently question her mental stability, adding pressure to an already challenging investigation.
The film also stars Ranveer Brar, Ash Tandon, Assad Raja, Prabhleen Sandhu, Sanjeev Mehra, Adwoa Akoto, and Zain Hussain. *The Buckingham Murders* is scheduled for release in theaters on September 13. The screenplay is written by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor, and Raghav Raj Kakker.
This film marks Kareena Kapoor Khan’s debut as a producer. She co-produces alongside Ektaa Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under the banners of Balaji Telefilms, Mahana Films, and TBM Films. The movie had its world premiere at the 67th BFI London Film Festival in October 2023.
