Jalandhar Rural Police solve blind Murder Case

The rural police have solved the blind murder case of a minor girl whose body was found dumped in village Hussainabad of Nakodar sub-division of the district.

Addressing a press conference, , Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (Rural) Mr Navjot Singh Mahal, SP (Investigation) Mr Rajveer Singh, SP (Headquarters) Mr Ravinder Pal Singh Sandhu, ASP Nakodar Ms Vatsala Gupta, DSP Mr Sarbjit Rai said on March 8 , 2019 Sucha Singh of Hussainabad informed the police that his minor daughter had left the house on March 8 around 7:30 PM without informing anybody.

SSP added that on April 12, a decomposed dead body of minor girl was recovered from an abandoned well situated in the fields of Iqbal Singh resident of Hussainabad. Proceedings under section 174 CRPC. were initiated and the dead body of the girl was handed over to her parents.

Mr Mahal said that from the medical report, it was established that the girl was murdered by strangulation following which a case under sections 302/201 IPC was registered in PS Sadar Nakodar, district Jalandhar (Rural) on April 17.

SSP told that in order to trace the case, a team of SP Investigation Mr Rajveer Singh, ASP Nakodar Ms Vatsala Gupta, DSP (Special Branch) Mr Sarabjit Rai and SHO PS Sadar Nakodar Inspector Zamil Mohammed was constituted. The team conducted the investigation in a systematic and technical manner and information was also derived by visiting the spot and from reliable sources.

He said that during the probe, it was established that Surjit Singh alias Dhesi of Husainabad was in contact with the girl and he returned from Italy a short time ago. The girl was used to force him to marry her upon which Surjit manhandled her and strangulated her and threw her body in an abandoned village in Hussainabad and returned to Italy.

SSP told that Surjit has been nominated as accused in the case and further investigation is being initiated.
