Continuing its sustained crackdown under the state-wide campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh” aimed at making Punjab a drug-free state, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has carried out multiple operations across the city over the past two days. During these operations, 11 accused were apprehended, and 68 grams of heroin along with 70 intoxicant tablets were recovered.
Providing details, CP Jalandhar Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur said that under the ongoing intensive drive against drug trafficking, various police teams from different police stations of Commissionerate Jalandhar, acting under the supervision of Halqa Gazetted Officers, conducted raids at several suspected locations over the last two days. During these operations, police teams apprehended 9 accused persons involved in drug peddling and *seized 68 grams of heroin and 70 intoxicant tablets from them.
In addition, *2 individuals found to be consuming drugs* were also caught red-handed.
All 11 accused persons have been booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further legal proceedings have been initiated.
Jalandhar Commissionerate Police will continue with even greater intensity in the coming days to completely dismantle and eradicate the drug network from its roots.
