Following the directives issued by the Director-General of Police Dinkar Gupta, Commissionerate Police Jalandhar today made as many as 379 violators undergo mandatory Covid-19 tests at various locations in the city.
Divulging more, Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar stated that special mobile check posts were set up in the city to check the violations of safety precautions such as wearing masks, spitting, and many more.
He said that besides imposing a penalty over the violators not wearing masks, they were asked to undergo a Covid-19 test at the adjoining facility. During the drive, a total of 379 tests were conducted pan-city and the drive to be continued regularly, he added.
The CP said that there are certain guidelines also known as Covid appropriate behaviors have been enforced for the welfare of society in the wake of current health crises.
He mentioned that no one is allowed to defy these precautions as this can put our health at a higher risk of getting infected by the Coronavirus adding appealed to all the citizens to fulfill their duty of adhering to these protocols responsibly.
Mr. Bhullar also reiterated his resolve to deal strictly with the violators especially the habitual one, who doesn’t care about society.
Pointing out further, the commissioner of police said that night curfew was being enforced strictly in the city and the patrolling parties were doing rounds in various locations. He said that as many as 126 special Nakas were set up in the city on Saturday and about 182 traffic challans were issued including 379 violators who were made to undergo Covid-19 tests along with the penalties.
