Jalandhar DC, CP congratulate counting & security staff for successful completion of LS polls

Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police today congratulated poll staff, counting staff, Security Personnel from para-military forces and Punjab Police Personnel for working round the clock for successfully completing the election process of Lok Sabha polls.

The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police, who personally supervised the entire counting process throughout the day, said that the successful counting marks the culmination of the strenuous efforts made by hundreds of polling and counting staff members who have made this elaborate exercise of democracy to be completed. They said that all the officers/ officials from the civil as well as Police administration deserve kudos for organizing this election in an unprecedented manner.

Both the officers said that these valiant soldiers of democracy have worked tirelessly day and night to ensure free, fair and peaceful by-poll in the district as a result of which this gigantic exercise has been completed in a smooth and hassle free manner. Complementing the poll staff for performing their duty diligently, both the officers said that polling and counting was most important exercise of democracy which could never be completed without their support as the polling staff was most important spoke in the wheel of election process.

Meanwhile, throughout the day, the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police personally monitored the ongoing counting at the office of the Director Land Records. Besides taking a regular briefing regarding the counting process being done on the tables by the counting staff from the officers, they also ensured that the entire exercise was undertaken in a transparent and peaceful manner. Both the officers also had detailed interactions with the officers of civil and Police administration including Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kulwant Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. PBS Parmar, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Sachin Gupta and others, who were overseeing arrangements during the counting.
