PPPC President Sunil Jakhar today assured the Shakya Samaj of due respect in the party, he will also take up their demands with Chief Minister.
The assurance was given to a deputation of the Samaj that met the state Congress president today to discuss various demands of the community.
The deputation included Master Ram Chander, Abohar councilor Satyavan Shakya, Gopi Ram Sarpanch, Raj Kumar, Pradeep Singh and Ashish Kumar. The Samaj demanded May 26, 2021 be declared holiday on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti, a chair in the name of Mahatma Buddha be set up in any university in the state and representation be given to the Samaj in the District Grievance Redressal Committees as well as in the organizational body of Congress.
Jakhar said he will ensure that the Samaj representatives get full respect in the party, will also take up their demands at a meeting with Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to resolve the same at govt level.
