Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) President and former Union Minister, S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa have come in support of Bibi Jagir Kaur, who has been recently suspended from the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) for raising her voice against the ‘lifafa’ envelope culture in the upcoming election of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee for the post of president and other officials.
S. Dhindsa said that if anyone dares to oppose the anti-panth policies of Sukhbir Singh Badal then they are shown the doors. What happened with Bibi Jagir Kaur is the latest example of this only, he added.
S. Dhindsa has appealed to all the members of the Shiromani Committee to listen to their conscience and vote against the Badal Dal in the election of the president and other office bearers of SGPC scheduled to be held on November 9.
He further said that Bibi Jagir Kaur has not done anything wrong by opposing Sukhbir Badal’s rudeness and dictatorial attitude. Notably, Bibi Jagir Kaur had appealed to Sukhbir Badal to end the envelope culture and let the SGPC President be elected in a democratic way, but unfortunately for raising her voice she has been suspended from the party, asserted S. Dhindsa.
He said that politics can never be above religion but Sukhbir Badal has been using this to fulfill his personal vested political interests since the beginning. Therefore, to save the Panth, it has become a necessity to sideline Sukhbir Singh Badal.
S. Dhindsa said that Shiromani Akali Dal, a century-old organization of martyrs, had to face a humiliating defeat in the assembly elections due to the Badal family. He said that everyone should unite to remove the power of the Badal family from Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and Shiromani Akali Dal.
