Strengthening its decisive campaign against corruption, the Haryana Government has appointed senior IPS officer of the 1992 batch, Shri Ajay Singhal, as the Chief of the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Haryana.
He assumed charge today at the Panchkula headquarters. Known for his honest, firm, and result-oriented working style, Shri Singhal’s appointment is expected to further reinforce the ongoing anti-corruption efforts in the state.
Firm Action Against Corruption—Ajay Singhal’s Clear Commitment
Upon assuming charge, Shri Singhal stated that corruption would not be tolerated at any level in Haryana.
He said that the functioning of the Vigilance Bureau would be made faster, more transparent, and more systematic to ensure swift and concrete action in cases involving bribery and irregularities. Enhancing transparency in government departments, ensuring timely response to complaints, and expediting the investigation of serious cases will be among his top priorities.
A Strong and Clear Message for Honest Administration
Shri Singhal said that his aim is to create an environment where honest officers feel respected, while those involved in corruption remain in constant fear of the law.
He emphasized that all Vigilance investigations will be strictly fact-based and evidence-driven, and no leniency or external pressure will be tolerated. He also stated that special focus will be kept on institutional corruption and economic offences.
Prompt Action on Public Complaints to Be Ensured
The newly appointed Chief stated that public complaints will be treated with utmost priority by the Vigilance Bureau. He said that winning public trust is essential, and therefore every complaint will be handled with speed, transparency, and sensitivity to ensure concrete results in corruption-related cases.
