Innocent Hearts School, Green Model Town, organised a career guidance seminar for students of Classes XI and XII under DISHA, an initiative run and managed by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, to familiarise students with emerging opportunities in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) sector.
The session was conducted by Ms Manpreet Anand, an educationist and career coach with over 13 years of experience in career guidance and emerging education trends. Associated with Arena Animation, Aptech Limited for the past eight years, she has guided young aspirants and facilitated placements for more than 3,000 students through Aptech Limited.
During the seminar, Ms Anand introduced students to the rapidly expanding AVGC industry, with special emphasis on animation, visual effects (VFX), computer-generated imagery (CGI) and gaming. She explained how these technologies are reshaping the entertainment sector and creating diverse career opportunities for young professionals.
Using examples from popular Bollywood films such as Dunki and Baahubali, she demonstrated how VFX and CGI are integrated into modern filmmaking to create visually compelling experiences. The examples helped students understand the practical applications of these technologies and the wide range of career options available in digital content creation, animation, gaming and visual effects.
The speaker also shared three key principles for personal and professional success — setting short-term goals and managing time effectively, accepting failures as learning opportunities, and maintaining curiosity by asking questions.
The interactive session provided students with valuable insights into unconventional career pathways and encouraged them to explore fields aligned with their interests, creativity and skills. It also helped aspiring students understand the scope of opportunities in the AVGC industry.
Dr Palak Gupta Bowry, Director CSR, Innocent Hearts Group, said that initiatives under DISHA are aimed at introducing students to emerging career options and equipping them with awareness, confidence and skills to make informed decisions about their future.
The guest speaker was presented with a souvenir by Principal Rajeev Paliwal. Vice Principal Amit, Prof. Rahul Jain, Deputy Director (Schools and Colleges), and Mrs Ambika Pasrija, Head of the Department of English and Activity In-charge, were also present on the occasion.
