Innocent Hearts School, Loharan successfully hosted the PSEB Girls Zonal Tournament (Zone-2), featuring competitions in volleyball, kho-kho and cricket across the Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 categories.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 543 players representing various schools. Volleyball saw participation from 15 teams comprising nearly 180 players, while 14 teams with around 168 participants competed in kho-kho. Cricket featured 13 teams with approximately 195 players taking part in the competition.
In volleyball, Innocent Hearts School, Loharan emerged champions in the Under-14 category and secured the runner-up position in both Under-17 and Under-19 categories. In kho-kho, the school finished runners-up in the Under-19 category.
The school also delivered a strong performance in cricket, winning the championship title in the Under-19 category. It secured the second position in Under-14 cricket and finished third in the Under-17 category.
Dr. Anup Bowry, Chairman, Innocent Hearts Group, highlighted the importance of sports in the overall development of students and said such events provide young athletes with opportunities to showcase their talent and build confidence.
Deputy Director Sports Rajeev Paliwal appreciated the enthusiasm and sporting spirit displayed by the participants. School Principal Shallu Sehgal congratulated all winners and participants, while Sports Coordinator Sanjeev Bhardwaj appreciated the efforts of the organising team for conducting the tournament successfully.
The winners and runners-up were honoured during the closing ceremony. Sports officials, coaches and representatives of participating schools praised the arrangements, disciplined conduct and spirit of sportsmanship displayed throughout the tournament.
