Innocent Hearts School celebrated Raksha Bandhan across all five of its campuses — Green Model Town, Loharan, Cantt.-Jandiala Road, Noorpur Road and Kapurthala Road — with a range of creative, cultural and eco-friendly activities.
The celebrations highlighted the values of love, affection, respect, care and togetherness associated with the festival, while providing students an opportunity to learn through meaningful activities.
Pre-primary students celebrated the ‘Thread of Love’ activity by making colourful rakhis under the guidance of their teachers. They tied the handmade rakhis on the wrists of school staff members who support and care for them.
Students of Grades I and II participated in eco-friendly rakhi activities, dedicating the festival to environmental awareness. Grades III and IV students showcased their creativity by making attractive eco-friendly rakhis and Rakhi cards. The activity also helped develop creative expression and fine motor skills.
Students of Grades IV and V expressed their gratitude towards Indian soldiers by creating tricolour- and camouflage-themed eco-friendly rakhis carrying the message, ‘Thank You, Soldiers’. The activity reflected their respect, empathy and appreciation for the armed forces.
Adding a culinary element to the celebrations, students of Grades VII and VIII took part in ‘Sweets and Treats’, preparing cookies, cupcakes and mini sandwiches.
The celebrations across the five campuses provided students with a memorable experience while reinforcing the values of love, trust, gratitude, mutual respect and togetherness. The activities also demonstrated how traditional festivals can be connected with creativity, environmental consciousness and experiential learning.
