The Innocent Hearts Group celebrated the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri across its five school campuses and college, organising a range of educational and community activities to mark the occasion.
The celebrations were held at the group’s campuses in Green Model Town, Loharan, Cantt.-Jandiala Road, Noorpur Road and Kapurthala Road, along with its college.
Students from the pre-primary and primary wings participated in various activities, with young learners dressed as Gandhi and Shastri to pay tribute to the national leaders. They offered floral garlands to their portraits and learned about Gandhi’s life and ideals through interactive storytelling sessions and audio-visual presentations.
Highlighting Gandhi’s emphasis on cleanliness, senior students took part in a campus cleanliness drive and joined a collective Swachhata Pledge, committing themselves to truth, non-violence and hygiene.
The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education also promoted the Swachhata Hi Seva initiative through a street play performed by volunteers Kavita Giri, Mansha Vij, Ekta and Shikha Kapoor.
Student-teachers organised poster-making activities based on Gandhi’s teachings and delivered talks during assemblies on the Solid Waste Management Rules. The activities were conducted under the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat.”
The celebrations aimed to familiarise students with the values of Gandhi and Shastri while encouraging cleanliness, civic responsibility and active participation in community welfare.
