Innocent Hearts Group celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervour across its schools and colleges, bringing together students from the pre-primary level to young adults through a range of creative, educational and cultural activities.
The group’s five school campuses — Green Model Town, Loharan, Cantt-Jandiala Road, Noorpur Road and Kapurthala Road — were decorated in saffron, white and green, creating a vibrant atmosphere for the celebrations.
At the pre-primary level, UKG students participated in a “Dress Up as a Freedom Fighter” activity. Dressed as prominent freedom fighters, the young students spoke a few lines about their chosen personalities while using colourful props.
Students from Classes I to X also took part in activities designed to deepen their understanding of India’s freedom struggle. Classes I and II dressed up as freedom fighters, while Class III students made tricolour badges and paper fans. Class V students created patriotic posters, expressing their feelings for the nation through artwork.
Class VI students participated in a historical quiz focused on freedom fighters. Students of Classes VII and VIII presented Hindi poems, while Classes IX and X staged a role play titled “Tribute to Freedom Fighters”, portraying significant moments from the freedom struggle and highlighting the courage and sacrifices of those who fought for independence.
Under the peer education initiative, student office-bearers also interacted with junior students and educated them about India’s freedom movement.
At Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions, Loharan, the Cultural Committee organised celebrations under the theme “Honouring Freedom, Inspiring the Future”. Students participated in poster-making, poetry, speeches, patriotic solo singing, skits and group dances.
Meanwhile, the NSS Unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education observed Independence Day under the theme “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”, focusing on patriotism and India’s cultural diversity. Student-teachers recited self-composed poems expressing pride in the country and highlighting the spirit of unity in diversity.
The activities across the campuses sought to remind students that the freedom enjoyed by the country also carries responsibilities towards society and the nation.
