Indian soldier attempts Guinness World Record, runs 4,300 kms in 50 days

To make it to the Guinness Book of World records, an Indian Army soldier, NaikVelu P, has started ultra-marathon from Srinagar to Kanyakumari. The armyman eyes at completing 4300 km run within 50 days.

NaikVelu P, an ultra marathoner, was given a grand welcome by Brigadier V Anand, Commandant and all ranks at Military Hospital Jalandhar on 05 April 2021 on his arrival from Srinagar via Pathankot. NaikVelu P born on 21 April 1991 at Krishnagiri (Tamil Nadu) and joined Indian Army in December 2011 (AMC).

He has started ultra-marathon from Srinagar to Kanyakumari and completed 480 kms up to Jalandhar by covering average distance of 80-100 kms per day. He is determined to create new record by covering this mammoth distance of 4,300 km from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.

NaikVelu is serving as a Nursing Assistant in the 60 Para Field Hospital and is an ultra-marathoner who is attempting a Guinness world record by running from Kashmir to Kanyakumari for a distance of about 4,300 Kms within 50 days. This run is in the process of becoming an Asian record.The ultra-marathoner conveyed that his present run is with motto of “One nation one spirit”.

Also in last year June,NaikVelu became the first Indian ultra-marathon-runner to complete 1600 kms in just 17 days.He has already won many ultra marathon stuffman runs and stadium runs across India. He has been representing Athletics Federation of India (AFI) in long distance runs for the last four years.

In September 2021 he will be representing India for stadium run at a world championship in Romania. All ranks of Vajra Corps wish him success in future events.
