The Indian Ambassador to the United States of America (USA) Taranjit Singh Sandhu and his wife Reenat Sandhu who is secretary (west) in the Ministry of External Affairs today paid obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib, Sri Darbar Sahib.
On this occasion, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Bibi Jagir Kaur honoured the Taranjit Singh Sandhu with Siropao (robe of honour) and his wife and gifted them some books related to the Sikh history at the Information Center of Sri Darbar Sahib and discussed with him the issues of Sikhs living in the USA.
Bibi Jagir Kaur discussed with Taranjit Singh Sandhu the issue of racial attacks on Sikhs in the USA.
Taranjit Singh Sandhu said that he was already working seriously on this issue and would continue to do so in future.
Bibi Jagir Kaur said that it is a matter of happiness that the heir of Panthic leader S. Teja Singh Samundri’s family Taranjit Singh Sandhu is representing India in the USA.
Meanwhile, Taranjit Singh Sandhu thanked the SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur for the honour.
On this occasion among others information officer Jaswinder Singh Jassi, OSD to SGPC president Dr Sukhbir Singh and others were present.
