I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU), Jalandhar-Kapurthala, has signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICT Academy to strengthen industry-academia collaboration and expand opportunities in faculty development, technical skills, research and industry-oriented academic programmes.
The MoU was signed by IKGPTU Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Yadwinder Singh Brar and G. Sarvanan, AVP–Academic Operations, ICT Academy.
Registrar Dr. Navdeepak Sandhu and Er. Mohit Jain, Assistant Registrar, Corporate Relations & Alumni, were also present on the occasion. ICT Academy was represented by Sr. Manager Lovetesh Kumar and Relationship Managers Babar Nazir and Abhinav from Punjab.
Prof. Brar said the academic partnership would support students and faculty members in pursuing new growth opportunities and developing skills aligned with emerging industry requirements. Dr. Sandhu congratulated the Corporate Relations Office for facilitating the initiative.
Under the agreement, IKGPTU will function as a Nodal Institution of ICT Academy and facilitate technical and soft-skills training programmes for its faculty as well as faculty members of affiliated institutions.
ICT Academy will provide access to industry-relevant training in information and communication technology domains, learning resources and domain-specific programmes conducted by industry experts. The collaboration will also facilitate research opportunities and enable industry inputs into curriculum development.
The partnership envisages joint development of new courses for teachers and exploration of ICT-related research areas in line with changing industry needs.
The five-year agreement is aimed at promoting technology-driven education and creating stronger institutional linkages between academia and industry. Through the collaboration, IKGPTU will seek to provide faculty and students with greater exposure to emerging technologies, industry practices and skill-development opportunities.
