IGP, DC and CP review arrangements for state-level Independence Day Function at Jalandhar

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chief Minister’s security Mr. Rakesh Aggarwal held detailed parleys with the officers of the district civil and Police administration regarding the security arrangements to be made in wake of the visit of the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Independence Day.

The Inspector General of Police, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, inspected the Guru Gobind Singh Stadium where the Chief Minister would unfurl the national tricolor on Independence Day, August 15.

The officers minutely inspected the stadium and gave necessary directions to the security personnel and civil staff regarding the arrangements to be made for the Independence Day celebrations. The Inspector General of Police said that all the arrangements regarding sitting, parking of vehicles, deployment of medical and fire fighting teams, security and others should be meticulously planned and executed.

Briefing the Inspector General of Police about the arrangements, the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police said that the district administration would make foolproof arrangements for traffic diversion, parking of vehicles, security arrangements and other facilities.

They said that duties have been assigned to the officers of the civil and Police administration and every concerned officer has been asked to make sure that their staff performs their duty diligently for smooth conduct of event. Both the officers said that any sort of callousness in performing this duty was unwanted and undesirable.

The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police also informed the Inspector General of Police that the full dress rehearsal for this mega event would take place on August 13 to ensure smooth execution of the function. They said that every officer / official of the district administration was duty-bound to ensure that people celebrate this national festival with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm.

On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jasbir Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurmeet Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Sachin Gupta and Mr. PS Bhandall, Secretary RTA Dr. Nayan Jassal, Assistant Commissioner Ms. Shayari Malhotra and others were also present.
