Shri Manish Kumar, an Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer from the 2006 batch, has been assigned an additional significant responsibility by the Punjab Government.
Presently serving as the Director of Environment & Climate Change, Shri Kumar will now also take on the role of Special Secretary in the Department of Science, Technology & Environment.
This immediate appointment underscores the state’s commitment to integrating environmental concerns with scientific and technological advancements. The official order was released from Chandigarh on May 27, 2025, by Chief Secretary, Govt. of Punjab, KAP Sinha.
