In a major achievement in the public healthcare sector, Hoshiarpur district has secured the top position across Punjab in patient feedback for Aam Aadmi Clinics. The recognition was conferred by Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh during a two-day conference of Civil Surgeons and Deputy Medical Commissioners held in Chandigarh.
The award was received by Acting Civil Surgeon and Aam Aadmi Clinic Nodal Officer Dr. Seema Garg, acknowledging the district’s excellence in delivering patient-centric primary healthcare services.
Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain congratulated the Health Department team, stating that the recognition reflects the district’s strong healthcare infrastructure, teamwork, and public trust. She emphasized that Aam Aadmi Clinics are playing a vital role in strengthening primary healthcare by ensuring doorstep access to essential medical services.
The achievement highlights the district’s commitment to accessible, transparent, and patient-friendly healthcare delivery while strengthening the primary health system at the grassroots level.
Praising Dr. Seema Garg’s leadership, the DC Aashika Jain highlighted her coordination skills, transparency, and dedication, which have significantly improved the quality of healthcare services in the district.
Currently, 74 Aam Aadmi Clinics are operational across the district, providing free and quality healthcare services. Each clinic is staffed with a Medical Officer, Pharmacy Officer, Clinical Assistant, and support staff. Essential diagnostic tests and 102 types of medicines are provided free of cost.
To ensure service quality, patient data is shared with a call centre team after treatment. Patients are contacted to verify whether they received medicines, were satisfied with the doctor’s behaviour, underwent required tests, and found hygiene standards satisfactory.
Dr. Seema Garg further informed that pregnant women are being provided free ultrasound and Level-2 scans at empanelled ultrasound centres.
