Hoshiarpur, popularly known as the ‘Mini Kashi’, will host a grand devotional programme dedicated to Lord Shiva on August 12, MLA Bram Shanker Jimpa said on Tuesday.
Titled ‘Ek Shaam Bhagwan Shiv Ke Naam’, the religious event will be held at the Dussehra Ground, with renowned singer and Padma Shri awardee Kailash Kher set to present a special musical performance dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Jimpa invited residents of Hoshiarpur and surrounding areas to participate in the devotional evening. He said Kailash Kher, known internationally for his devotional compositions and performances, would be visiting Hoshiarpur for the first time and would present a special programme centred on the worship of Lord Shiva.
The MLA said Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia would also attend the event as special guests.
The programme is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The organising committee has also made arrangements for a large langar for devotees attending the event.
Jimpa appealed to religious and social organisations as well as residents of Hoshiarpur to participate in the programme with their families and become part of the devotional evening dedicated to Lord Shiva.
