The State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SV&ACB), Rohtak Range, has taken a significant action under its special anti-corruption अभियान “Peecha Karo” by arresting a Junior Engineer (JE) and a Lineman of the Power Department in a bribery case.
The arrested officials have been identified as Ramkala, Junior Engineer, and Rajesh, Lineman, both posted with Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), Rohtak.
Demand of bribe under the pretext of electricity theft inspection
As per the case details, on 08.06.2025 at around 6:00 a.m., the accused JE Ramkala conducted an inspection at the residence of complainant Sanjay Saini located in Sher Vihar Colony, Bhiwani Chungi, Rohtak, in connection with an alleged electricity theft. During the inspection, after detecting electricity theft, the accused demanded illegal gratification in lieu of not initiating action as per rules.
First installment of bribe received
On the same day, the accused JE Ramkala received an amount of ₹20,000 as bribe from the complainant at Hotel Candy, Bhiwani Chungi, Rohtak.
Remaining amount collected by lineman
Subsequently, on 09.06.2025, the co-accused Rajesh, Lineman (DHBVN), collected the remaining amount of ₹5,000 from the complainant at Hotel Candy, Rohtak, on behalf of the main accused.
Case registered under Prevention of Corruption Act
On the basis of the established facts, FIR No. 31 dated 29.11.2025 was registered against both accused under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 at Police Station, State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Rohtak.
Arrest after completion of investigation
After completion of investigation and upon finding sufficient evidence substantiating the allegations, both accused were arrested today, i.e., on 28.12.2025.
Zero tolerance policy against corruption
The State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has reiterated that it follows a strict zero-tolerance policy against corruption and will continue to take firm and decisive action against any public servant found involved in corrupt practices.
