Taking a decisive step against corruption, the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Haryana has launched a special enforcement drive titled ‘Peechha Karo’ to ensure the arrest of absconding accused persons. The special operation will continue for the next seven days, with a focused objective of bringing long-pending fugitives to justice.
Crackdown on Pending Cases and Strengthening Accountability
According to the directions issued by the Director General of SV&ACB, Ajay Singhal, a number of anti-corruption cases are pending due to the non-arrest of accused persons, adversely affecting the judicial process. Taking serious note of this, all Superintendents of Police of ACB ranges have been instructed to constitute special teams and undertake swift, coordinated, and result-oriented action.
Immediate Arrests in Cases with Adequate Evidence
The instructions clearly state that in cases where sufficient evidence and facts are already available on record, immediate arrests must be ensured. Simultaneously, all necessary legal formalities for the expeditious disposal of pending cases are to be completed in a time-bound manner.
Close Monitoring and Mandatory Reporting
As per the issued directions, the Headquarters will closely monitor the progress of the ‘Peechha Karo’ campaign. All concerned units have been directed to submit regular action-taken reports to the Headquarters. Any laxity or non-compliance in implementing the instructions will be viewed seriously.
Mr. Singhal stated that this special drive is another strong step in line with the State Government’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption, sending a clear and unequivocal message that there is no safe haven for those attempting to evade the law.
