Haryana Police advises people to beware of FAKE Appointment Letters

Chandigarh, Feb 22, 2021 (Yes Punjab News)
Haryana Police has issued an advisory asking the citizens to beware of fraudsters’ new trend of defrauding people through fake ‘job offer letters’ demanding money.

Advising the people to beware of such scams, Director General of Police (DGP), Haryana, Sh. Manoj Yadava said that a new trend of crime has come to the fore in which fraudsters are claiming to represent the esteemed organizations of Union/State Government and demanding money on the pretext of offering jobs.

Explaining about the modus operandi, he said that these fraudsters first send a fake appointment letter to the applicants and then cheat them by asking their credentials on the given number, followed by payment of some amount in the name of security deposit. They also warn them about the suspension of their offer letter in case the security deposit is not paid on time.

This is a common method used by such scammers to defraud the gullible people and authorities have been constantly asking people to be alert and not get trapped in their web by getting attracted to such bait.

Haryana Police is regularly sharing the crime prevention tips through different modes of communication including social media so that common people do not get victimized by these fraudsters.

He advised the citizens to be alert and report immediately in case they receive any such suspected fraud letter. A strict action as per law will be taken against the offenders.
