With a view to expediting and completing the work of consolidation in various villages, the Haryana Government has decided to give additional charge of Assistant Consolidation Officer to 15 Naib Tehsildars.
While stating this here today, Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, said that the Deputy Commissioners had been directed to post a Kanungo and two Patwaris in each revenue estate or village where consolidation work was pending.
The Deputy Commissioners would also prescribe timelines for each stage of the consolidation work. They would closely monitor the work and would review the progress on a fortnightly basis. Department-level review meetings would also be held every month, he added.
Mr. Kaushal expressed hope that the decision would help ensure smooth execution of the work, which was being impeded by the paucity of staff, as there are only two Assistant Consolidation Officers in the State at present.
