The Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today successfully arrested Sub-Inspector Yashpal, in-charge of the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Nuh district, while accepting a bribe of ₹100,000.
The ACB team apprehended Yashpal from Rajiv Chowk in Gurugram while he was accepting the bribe. A case has been registered against the accused at the Gurugram police station of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, and he has been arrested.
Providing information about this, a government spokesperson said that the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau, Gurugram team had received a complaint in this regard.
The complainant stated that a case had been registered under various sections against her husband, brother, and two daughters at City Nuh police station, in which Sub-Inspector Yashpal was the investigating officer. The complainant alleged that Yashpal was demanding a bribe of ₹100,000 to remove the names of her family members from the aforementioned FIR.
The complainant further alleged that the accused had already taken a bribe of ₹800,000 in this case.
It is alleged that Yashpal pressured the complainant to either give him one lakh rupees or he would arrest her family members.
Following this, the complainant contacted the Gurugram team of the Anti-Corruption Bureau and informed them about the entire matter.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau team planned to catch the accused Yashpal after investigating all aspects and successfully arrested him at Rajiv Chowk in Gurugram with a bribe of one lakh rupees.
This entire action was carried out fairly and with complete transparency in the presence of witnesses. A case has been registered against the accused at the Gurugram police station of the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau.
