GZS School of Architecture and Planning organizes workshop on ‘Model Making & Construction Materials

The Giani Zail Singh School of Architecture & Planning, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRS-PTU), Bathinda organised a one day workshop for the students of all batches of B.Arch. in the University Campus.

The objective of the workshop is to enhance the knowledge of construction materials and techniques and make students acquainted with the unique methodology of model making to support their designs.

Ar. Manmohan Singh, the expert for the day is practising Architect working in Ludhiana having specialization in Interiors and is an expert in model making.

The session started with a note of warm welcome by Dr. Bhupinder Pal Singh, Head of the department.

The session started with the presentation by the Expert of one of his housing projects in Hyderabad to make students familiar with different construction approaches implemented in this one. It was followed by the model making workshop in which Ar. Manmohan first elaborated about different model making materials and their usage.

Then students were taught the material cutting and pasting techniques to make objects such as trees and built ups. The students from all batches formed the groups and made models of basic shapes in the workshop only to achieve hands-on the learnt methodology and techniques.

The event was coordinated under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Bhupinder Pal Singh Dhot . Ar. Manveer Singh, Ar. Bhavana Ohri and Ar. Konica Sharma also played a key role in the event.

It was attended by all the faculty members and the students of all batches.

Ar. Anubhav Kataria, Ar. Davinder and Ar. Chetanpal, our pass out students, also helped throughout for the smooth conduct of the workshop.

The session ended with the thank you note to the experts, coordinating faculty and participation of the students was highly appreciated by the head of the department.

MRS-PTU, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu, Registrar, Dr. Gurinderpal Singh Brar and Campus Director, Dr. Sanjiv Aggarwal congratulated the Department for organizing such an innovative workshop.
