In line with the hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas, the Ministry of Minority Affairs (GOI) and Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC), has announced a landmark initiative aimed at skilling and educating the youth in the National Capital.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed today at Gurudwara Shri. Rakabganj Sahib to allocate Rs 100 crore for training and skill-building programs.
This initiative is designed to equip youth with essential skills, education, enabling them to become more successful in their respective fields. Initially, approximately 29600 youth will get financial assistance in skill training while 2000 will receive aid for education under this scheme.
On this occasion, Union Minister of Minority Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju was also present, along with Hon’ble minister of Industries in Delhi, Shri Manjinder Singh Sirsa and other senior officials of DSGMC.
Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Industries Minister Shri Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, “This initiative is a historic step towards educating and skilling the youth of Delhi and beyond.
We are committed to providing financial assistance to anyone seeking to upskill themselves, in order to ensure that opportunities are not limited by financial constraints. Not only in Delhi but youth across country who require support in skill-development will also be considered under this program.”
Union Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju emphasized the government’s commitment to generating employment through skilling and education, stating, “The scheme will provide financial assistance to the students, it also has a provision for stipend, and it has been designed primarily to generate employment opportunities for students across streams.”
Hon’ble Minister Shri. Kiren Rijiju further added that with this scheme, the central government is planning to reach put to students in every part of the country., “We have initially kept a target of skilling approximately 31,600 youth in order to make them employable. We have a vision to expand this scheme in all states.”
The scheme will be implemented through a structured approach, where eligible candidates can apply for financial assistance via a dedicated portal managed by the Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee in coordination with the Ministry of Minority Affairs. Funds will be disbursed based on skill assessment and training needs, ensuring that beneficiaries receive industry-relevant education and certification.
Additionally, mentorship programs and job placement assistance will be provided to maximize employment opportunities for the trained individuals.
Earlier DSGMC President Harmeet Singh Kalka, General Secretary Jagdip Singh Kahlon, Vice President Atma Singh Lubana and Secretary Jasmain Singh Noni welcome the dignitaries and assured full cooperation from the DSGMC in this initiative.
