In a moment of immense pride and honour for Guru Nanak Dev University, its Vice Chancellor, Prof. Karamjeet Singh, was bestowed with the prestigious “Punjab Ratna” Award. This accolade has been conferred in recognition of his visionary leadership, profound intellectual depth, and outstanding contributions in the fields of academia and administration.
The award ceremony was graciously organized by the Punjab Kala Parishad, Chandigarh, in the special presence of Padma Bhushan Sardara Singh Johal. During the event, Dr. Johal spoke highly of the Vice Chancellor, stating: “In my entire life, I have seen many Vice Chancellors, but Prof. Karamjeet Singh stands apart from all. The humility and natural grace in his thinking is truly remarkable and exemplary.”
The Chairman of Punjab Kala Parishad, Swaranjit Savi, shed light on the life and achievements of Prof. Karamjeet Singh while reading the citation in his honour.
Upon receiving the award, the Vice Chancellor described this honour as a divine blessing from the Almighty. He humbly attributed his success to the values and sanskars instilled by his parents, the knowledge imparted by his teachers, the supportive environment provided by his family, and the heartfelt good wishes and blessings from his students, friends, and well-wishers my University – all of which have culminated in this recognition today.
In his concluding message, the Vice Chancellor reaffirmed his unwavering commitment: “I shall continue to serve society in every sphere with the same dedication, and I pledge to make every effort to provide ethical, value-based education in the realm of academic administration.”
