The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), even after the implementation of the code of conduct, is still harassing the opposition parties and are trying to poach AAP MLAs and leaders in Punjab by calling them from foreign numbers to threaten or tempt them to join the BJP ahead of Lok Sabha elections.
Three AAP MLAs, Jagdeep Singh Goldy Kamboj (Jalalabad), Amandeep Singh Musafir (Balluana) and Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina (Ludhiana South), addressed a press conference and told how they were approached by the BJP and offered money to join their party.
All three MLAs asserted that they are the true soldiers of the AAP and Arvind Kejriwal and won’t leave the party.
MLA Jagdeep Kamboj said first the BJP put an honest leader like Arvind Kejriwal in jail. Arvind Kejriwal is the leader who fought against corruption in politics and always did politics of work.
But false cases have been registered and many AAP leaders are sent to jail without any proof of what they are being accused of. Goldy Kamboj said that they (BJP) are scared of Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP so where they failed to win people’s mandate they are trying to buy MLAs, MP and other AAP leaders at any cost.
He said, yesterday at around 12:52, I received a call from +35796718959 (Cyprus). The caller said his name is Sewak Singh and he wants to talk to the MLA and when I told him it was me, he asked if I was comfortable talking and I said yes.
He said there is an offer, we want you to join the BJP. He said this is a very good offer for me, I can tell any demand I have, I told him I don’t have any demand. He then offered me 20-25 crores to join the BJP and I said I don’t need it.
The AAP leader said, “I asked him from whom he got my number, I have no interest nor do I need you because what the Aam Aadmi Party has done for us, we could not even imagine. The AAP provided us, people belonging to a humble background, a platform and an opportunity to represent our people.”
Kamboj said that they arrested Arvind Kejriwal and now they are trying to break his team. If they want to do horse-trading then what is the need for an election system in the country. Punjab is a revolutionary state.
After Delhi, the people of Punjab elected change. They can try all they want but they won’t be able to buy thinking of Arvind Kejriwal ji and Bhagwant Mann ji.
He further said that those who are weak hearted can be bought but the thinking of Arvind Kejriwal, who taught politics to common people, forced the dynast politicians to come out of their palaces.
This BJP government registered false cases against the AAP leaders and till date, haven’t found any money. But now they are trying to buy our MLAs and MPs but we are not for sale. The people of Punjab have put their faith in us and created history in 2022 assembly elections.
MLA Harjinder Pal Kaur Chhina said that yesterday around 11:00 I got a call saying that I am Sewak Singh. It was a call from a foreign number, he said that he is speaking from Delhi. He said that I should switch my party and join their party (BJP).
Arvind Kejriwal was raided and arrested but we are the soldiers of the Aam Aadmi Party, people trusted us and we won’t fail them.
We will follow the thinking of Bhagwant Singh Mann and Arvind Kejriwal. Arvind Kejriwal is an idea. He can be arrested but the thinking of lakhs of volunteers who have joined him cannot be changed. We are standing with him and no one can buy us.
Amandeep Musafir, addressing the media, said that he got a call yesterday at around 12:30 pm saying that the caller was from Delhi. He said that I should join the BJP and when I asked him why he said that I will get 45 crore rupees. I was offered whatever post I wanted and Y+ security.
He said, I told him that we are soldiers of the Aam Aadmi Party and soldiers of Arvind Kejriwal ji. We are soldiers of Bhagwant Mann ji. We are elected by the people of Punjab and we are not for sale. The BJP wants to buy us, but the Aam Aadmi Party MLAs will not let the faith of the people of Punjab waver.
He said that we are the largest democracy in the world but the BJP is taking us towards the path of dictatorship. When they fail to form governments through elections, they buy MLAs. So I request all the countrymen to unite against the BJP in upcoming LS polls so that we can save our democracy.
He added that they have put Arvind Kejriwal in jail, they have put Manish Sisodia, Satyendra Jain and Sanjay Singh in jail. But they won’t be able to scare us or stop us.
