Prominent Social Worker, Jitender Singh Shunty, Founder of the NGO, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sewa Dal (SBS FOUNDATION), was awarded the Official Certificate by Delhi State Blood Transfusion Council (Govt. of NCT of Delhi) on becoming the first Sikh Blood Donor in the World to Cross the 100 mark, making a century in Blood Donation.
He was also awarded with the Title of #DonorSingh. The Felicitation of done at the Hands of Sh. Gautam Gambhir (Hon’ble MP, East Delhi, Former Cricketer & Philanthropist) who was also the Chief Guest of the 145th Mega Voluntary Blood Donation Camp, which was organized by the NGO Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sewa Dal (SBS Foundation), under the supervision of its President Hanuman Lakhotia & President Women’s Wing, Manjeet Kaur Shunty.
Mr. Gambhir stood entire time, along with ‘Shunty’ during his 100th Time Blood Donation, as an act of motivation. The Event took place on 18th June 2019 in association with The Leela Ambience Delhi Convention Hotel, in East Delhi, which also happened to be the venue for this Blood Donation Camp.
The Venue Partnership came under the Guidance of The General Manager of the Hotel, Mr. Varun Chhibber. In an initiative to celebrate the recent World Blood Donor Day, the camp saw a many first-time blood donor, as well as female blood donors. Area M.L.A, Sh. Om Prakash Sharma also made his presence at the Camp, where Jitender Singh Shunty made a record breaking 100th time Blood Donation.
The Blood Donors were much excited about the Blood Camp and perhaps seen flaunting Stickers of #MainBhiDonorSingh on their forearms whilst donating Blood. They were happy about joining their #DonorSingh Shunty in his Blood Donation Streak, it seemed.
Over 200 unit of blood was collected in this Mega camp with the help of satisfactory and successful medical checkup by Doctors from GTB Hospital, Delhi. Also one new Ambulance was launched by the NGO on this occasion which was inaugurated at the Hands of Sh. Gautam Gambhir.
#DonorSingh Jitender Singh Shunty emphasized the importance of Blood Donation in saving lives. He further said- “A blood donor is no less than God for people who need blood and that it is an opportunity to do something great in life by saving lives of people. I feel blessed to have donated blood for the 100th time today as our NGO Celebrated the World Blood Donor Day, which was just 3-4 days back.
I am glad to be entitled as #DonorSingh and it is more of a responsibility rather than just a tag, I believe. I am thankful to all the donors who came in big numbers today with a lot of zeal. I also thank The Leela Ambience Delhi Convention Hotel, East Delhi for their noble association in this camp.
I would like to especially thank Sh. Gautam Gambhir Ji who is our Honorable MP from East Delhi and a big Philanthropist himself. I am grateful to him that he accepted to grace this occasion as the Chief Guest at a very short notice and request letter by our NGO.”
