The Punjab government has appointed former IAS officer Karnail Singh as Secretary of the Punjab State Power Regulatory Commission.
Karnail Singh assumed charge of his new assignment today.
His tenure will be three years which can be extended to five years later.
Notably, Karnail Singh, who was scheduled to retire in September of this year opted to take VRS some time ago. He had dismissed the rumours regarding his intention to join politics.
While opting for VRS, he revealed that the decision was taken as he wanted to spend time with family.
