The Central University of Punjab, under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, is set to hold its 9th Convocation on Tuesday.
Shri Ram Nath Kovind, the Honorable Former President of India, will grace the ceremony as the Chief Guest. The event will witness the presence of several distinguished personalities.
During the Ninth Convocation, a total of 864 PG/PhD degrees will be conferred, comprising 813 Post Graduate Degrees and 51 PhD Degrees.
The Chief Guest, Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji, will deliver the Convocation Address and present Gold Medals to 41 meritorious students securing first position in their respective disciplines.
Out of the 864 PG/Ph.D. degree recipients, 485 are male students and 379 are female students.
Despite their smaller number, female students outshone their male counterparts by securing 28 medals, compared to the 13 earned by male students Approximately 8 degrees will be conferred upon international students.
Professor Raghavendra P. Tiwari, the Vice-Chancellor, expressed pride in having the Honorable Former President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji, as the Chief Guest, further elevating the significance of the event. Several other dignitaries are expected to grace the occasion, presided over by Hon’ble Chancellor Prof. Jagbir Singh, adding to its prestige.
He stated that during this Convocation Ceremony, the university will acknowledge the contributions of several distinguished personalities from different walks of life by conferring them with Honorary Degrees.
Professor Raghavendra P. Tiwari asserted that through this convocation, the University will entrust to society 864 PG/PhD degree recipients, who, as responsible citizens, will contribute to the nation’s development and uphold Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision of creating an inclusive society.
