Former Hazoori Ragi Baldev Singh Wadala steps into politics, announces formation of Sher-e-Punjab Dal

Chandigarh, June 28, 2024 (Yes Punjab News)

The people of Punjab are extremely distressed by serious crimes such as the disappearance of 328 copies of the holy Granth Sahib from Sri Darbar Sahib, converting free inns provided to the community into luxurious hotels for commercialization, scams in the leftover food of the Guru’s Langar, and the youth falling prey to drug addiction.

Adding to this, the failures of successive governments, be it Congress, Akali-BJP, or now AAP, have led to widespread despair.

In light of these issues, former Hazoori Ragi of Sri Darbar Sahib, Panthic leader, and world-renowned kirtaniya Jathedar Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala announced the formation of a political party, Sher-e-Punjab Dal, on the 185th death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Addressing journalists at a press conference at the Chandigarh Press Club today, Bhai Wadala explained the reasons behind forming the party.

He stated that the interests of Punjab and the Panth have been consistently ignored in both central and Punjab politics, whether it is the Congress government, Akali-BJP, AAP, or the defectors among them.

Even the Shiromani Akali Dal, which once claimed to be a regional party of Punjab, has now become a party solely focused on gaining power for the family, leading to its marginalization and struggle for survival.

He emphasized that in such dire circumstances, Punjab needed a regional party, making this call of the hour a necessity.

This decision has been made based on suggestions from pro-Punjab people, a voice that has never been raised since the demise of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. To protect the challenges, problems, and values of the Sikh Panth and Punjab, the Sher-e-Punjab Dal is being established.

This party will be committed to bringing a new wave of unity, cooperation, and strength among Sikh, Hindu, Muslim, and Christian communities. He announced that the party’s organizational structure, constitution, and manifesto would be declared by the end of July.

Party Objectives :

Explaining the party’s objectives, he stated that Sher-e-Punjab Dal aims to address drug addiction, unemployment, debt relief, water rights, health, education, agriculture, industry, employment, security, and the unconditional immediate release of Sikh prisoners.

It will also aim to abolish unjust laws against farmers, journalists, and intellectuals, reform Gurudwara management by freeing SGPC from all factions to restore religious values, and establish a Khalsa secular, democratic government to ensure justice in cases of sacrilege and the 328 holy scriptures.

Present members at the occasion included Bhai Gurmeet Singh Thoohi, Executive Punjab President Bhai Joginder Singh, Assistant Secretary Bhai Amarpal Singh Ji, Treasurer Bhai Gurwatan Singh Hoshiarpur, Bhai Avatar Singh Ludhiana, Bhai Ranjan Singh Bathinda, Bhai Arvinder Singh, Bhai Gurbakhsh Singh, Bhai Avatar Singh,
