Ludhiana, December 8, 2025 (Yes Punjab News)
A tragic accident on the Ludhiana–Jalandhar Highway claimed the lives of five people, including two minor girls, after the car they were travelling in crashed into the central divider near the Ladowal Toll Plaza late Sunday night.
The collision was extremely severe, leaving the Hyundai Verna (PB 10DH 4619) completely destroyed and the bodies badly mutilated. The force of the impact was so intense that the head of one minor girl was severed. Initial reports indicate that the three male victims were friends, though the relationship, if any, between them and the two girls is still unclear.
The accident took place around 10:15 pm, and the bodies were transported to Civil Hospital Ludhiana by about 1:00 am for post-mortem.
The father of a 28-year-old male victim said that his son had not disclosed where he was going that night. The family was informed about the fatal crash around 3:30 am. He also said he had no knowledge of the two minor girls who were in the vehicle.
He further alleged that the incident may not have been a simple road accident, suggesting it could be a case of loot. Police have yet to confirm any such angle and are investigating all possible circumstances, including speed, foul play, and how all five individuals came to be travelling together.
The horrific crash has left residents in shock and raised serious questions about road safety and the events leading up to the tragedy.
