Surinder Kumari deputed as EO with Improvement Trust, Jalandhar has been accused of slapping a Computer Operator in the office of JIT.
The victim has filed a written complaint with JIT Chairman and senior Congress leader Dr. Daljit Singh Ahluwalia.
It has been alleged that Damanjit son of Satish Kumar, a resident of Kabir Nagar, Jalandhar who is working on Contract Basis with the JIT for last five years was slapped on Wednesday.
According to Damanjit, the EO had asked him to prepare Information file by 4.00 PM on Tuesday after which she left the office. He waited for her till 5.30 PM but left thereafter as she had not come back till then.
Damanjit said that on Wednesday when he was sitting there in his cabin in the office, the EO walked in and slapped him accusing that he had not completed the file.
It is alleged that he was slapped in full public view and when he opposed this act the EO misbehaved with him and also abused him.
Damanjit has alleged that the EO had earlier too misbehaved with some staff members. Handing over his complaint to Chairman Mr. Ahluwalia, Damanjit has demanded action against the EO. He also said that if no action was taken, he would be forced to initiate legal action against the EO.
Contacted by YesPunjab EO Surinder Kumari said that he definitely got annoyed with the staff member but refuted any claims of having slapped him. She said that as a senior, she has to get the work done from her subordinates and everything should be understood in the right context. However, another staff member, speaking on the condition of anonymity, has also confirmed the incident.
